The low carbon concrete ingredient market is valued at $66 billion. Demand is driven by customers searching for novel solutions, with very few market-ready and scaled options.
As part of a working group with more than 30 of the largest construction companies, we developed the ingredient they requested.
We have first use-cases of adoption for our hemp fibre-based ingredient, with the ability to expand into the wider concrete market.
Our cutting-edge innovation was selected by CapitaLand in their global innovation shortlist and ranked as a top 5 sustainable construction solution (out of 1,478 startups and scaleups) .
Ingredient: Concrete
Carbon Negative Ingredient
Hemp Fibre
Hemp fibre exhibits strong mechanical performance due to its cellulose-rich micro-fibrillar structure and low-density reinforcement characteristics. These properties make it perfect for material applications requiring strength while being light weight and carbon negative.
Rare Earth offers an industrial supply of sustainable hemp fibre. We primarily service the concrete market, and for customers also manufacturing for adjacent construction material markets - we can accommodate where possible.
We have structural and long term proprietary testing of our ingredient in concrete, proving our performance (which can be shared under NDA). We also have first-use case approvals and are expanding our market penetration.
The majority of our production is in Europe, with expansion to APAC and the Americas underway. Independent Life Cycle Analysis was carried out demonstrating the carbon impact of our ingredient.
